Smoky Mountain Winterfest Events

This year is the 25th Anniversary of Smoky Mountain Winterfest. Smoky Mountain Winterfest celebrates the holidays and season of Winter in the Greater Pigeon Forge areas!

Smoky Mountain Winterfest started mid-November 2014 and ends late February 2015. The celebration includes festivals, craft shows, parades, concerts and tours.

Events:

  • November 1- December 31, Titanic Edwardian Christmas Celebration: Step back in time and see how the Titanic Grand Staircase and ship would have been decorated in the 1912 Edwardian period. The entire ship will be lit up for Christmas with lights and Christmas trees.
  • November 23, Pigeon Forge Community Chorus Winterfest Concert: Talent from Pigeon Forge and surrounding areas blend their voices for this very special holiday offering.
  • November 25, December 1, Great Smoky Thanksgiving Arts & Crafts Show: Unique handcrafted Thanksgiving gifts made by members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community are offered for sale at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.
  • November 26-30, Gatlinburg’s Festival of Trees: Located at the W.L. Mills Conference Center in Gatlinburg, TN. A beautiful wonderland of Christmas trees awaits visitors and locals alike at the Gatlinburg Festival of Trees. See dozens of spectacularly decorated Christmas trees, many of which are available for sale. Proceeds from the event benefit Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Mission.
  • November 27, Fireworks on Thanksgiving at the Titanic: The Titanic Museum Attraction will be hosting the largest fireworks event of the year on the Parkway, Thanksgiving night. This annual event is to honor the lives and legacies of the ship’s passengers, crew and rescuers.
  • November 27 – December 28, Titanic Pigeon Forge Honors Christmas: Visit the Titanic Pigeon Forge on Thanksgiving evening and watch it snow off of the bow of the ship.
  • November 28 – December 20, Winter Magic Tunes & Tales: Through the holiday season, visitors can meet characters and storytellers and enjoy caroling along the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg Friday and Saturday evenings.
  • November 28-29, The Nutcracker “Sweet”: Enjoy this great annual performance held at W.L. Mills Auditorium in Gatlinburg, TN. This popular classic is presented by the Smoky Mountain Dance Theater.
  • December 1-7, Great Smoky Christmas Arts & Crafts Show: Unique handcrafted gifts made by members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community are offered as they host their annual Christmas show at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in downtown Gatlinburg at traffic light #8.
  • December 1-5, Dr. James Merritt’s Mountain Top Conference: Held at Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge for the 5th Annual Mountain Top Conference featuring The Story: From Genesis To Revelation.
  • December 5-7, Yama-Con: This convention focuses on Anime and the Japanese culture, but also features other events that are related to video games, cards, board games, comics. The event will take place at the new LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge.
  • December 5, Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade: Gatlinburg’s annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade at 7:30 pm.
  • December 6-27, Titanic Pigeon Forge Honors Christmas: Visit Titanic on Thanksgiving evening and watch it snow off of the bow of the ship.
  • December 6, 52nd Annual City of Sevierville Christmas Parade: This traditional parade has everything from festive floats and marching bands to unique vehicles and Santa Claus.
  • December 6, Breakfast or Brunch with Santa: Make a lasting memory for your children and the whole family by enjoying a delicious brunch with Santa Claus himself at the Old Mill Square.
  • December 10-13, Christmas in the Smokies Bluegrass Festival: Jordan Entertainment presents the annual bluegrass festival at the Ramada Inn and Smoky Mountain Convention Center, 4010 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863. For more information, call (865) 453-1823.
  • December 11, Sugarfest 2014: This event celebrates everything sweet at the Sevierville Convention Center.
  • December 11 – 13, Parker’s Greatest Knife Show: Enjoy this entertaining knife show for the whold family at Sevierville Events Center.
  • December 13, Arrowmont Holiday Festival and Sale: 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the Arrowmont Art Supply Store in Gatlinburg.
  • December 13, Arrowmont Holiday Workshops Day: Each holiday-themed workshop focuses on a specific medium and will result in finished artwork.
  • December 13, Festival of Christmas Past: Christmas in the mountains with old-time music, harp singing, storytelling and reminiscing, craft demonstrations such as weaving, spinning, quilting, basket making, historic toys and games, and children’s activities.
  • December 13, Holiday Concert with Bill Mize and Ed Gerhard: Ed & Bill perform stirring renditions of holiday classics and concert favorites as well. Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, 556 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738. To purchase tickets call 865-436-5860.
  • December 14, Santa Hustle: Santa Hustle Smokies 5k and Half Marathon, 7:30 am at Wilderness at the Smokies in PigeonForge.
  • December 20, Holiday Homecoming: Enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas celebration in the Smokies with traditional music at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center.
  • December 27-30, Southeastern Student Conference: Held at the LeConte Center At Pigeon Forge.
  • December 31, New Year’s Eve in Pigeon Forge: The Island is hosting a huge New Year’s Eve celebration in downtown Pigeon Forge, complete with a ball drop, special concert and Fireworks!
  • January 9-10, National Fishing Lure Collectors Club: Smoky Mountain Convention Center, 4010 Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Peruse over 200 tables of fishing-tackle collectibles, including lures, photos, advertisements, reels, rods, and more.
  • January 29 Arrowmont/SmartBank Reception and Auction: Reception and opportunity to purchase a few high-end art objects from Arrowmont’s permanent collection. 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Open to public. Located at SmartBank Cedar Bluff Branch, 202 Advantage Place, Knoxville, TN 37922
  • January 24-31, 25th Annual Wilderness Wildlife Week™: Based at the new LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, this week-long event features a series of free, family-friendly activities designed to educate budding and experienced outdoorspeople and instill a love of nature in all those who attend.
  • February 7, February Freeze 5K: Registration begins at 4:45 pm and race starts at 6:00 pm across from Patriot Park on Butler Street
  • February 18 – 22, 15th Annual Saddle Up: Cowboy enthusiasts from across the nation gather in Pigeon Forge each February for this fun Western-themed weekend.
  • February 28, Rose Glen Literary Festival: Lectures and book signings from Sevier County authors and those who have written books about Sevier County. Sevierville Convention Center.
